As far back as I can remember I had always wanted a PC, I remember when my dad first bought me one, I had no idea what was inside it but it could play Quake 3 !! I spent most of my time taking the poor PC apart, I had no idea what girls were back then, still don't really understand them! ... but hey they couldn't be as cool as Quake 3! :)

I will forever be grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to have a PC of my own and then putting me though Varsity Collage to study a diploma in networking.

My first job , while I was studying, was at a small computer shop in Glenwood called Computerama, there I was taken under the wing and thought how to properly take PC's apart, it was an awesome job and I'm still good mates with the owner.

My first full time Job was for Renckens Super Spar in Mandini, although I filled the roll of IT Manager, the position focused on retail which included working weekends and taking part in stock takes, I felt this is not what I had studied to do. I was with the spar group for 2 years 6 months when I decided it was time to move to Durban and focus on a pure IT related Job. ... and not work weekends! :D

I started with AAT as a Support Administrator, my line manager Alan took me under his wing and thought me everything he knows about our Vodacom Products, I take my hat off to him as this must have been a frustrating task as I feel the only stupid question, is the one you don't ask! ... I had many everyday for Alan :) As I proved my worth to the company I was promoted to Support Manager and then later to Technical Manager where my roles include SQL Server administration through to ASP web development.

We have come a long way with new SMSC Gateways being rolled out and shattering the now milestone of 10 Million SMS in a month!

I firmly believe that there is no "I" in team and together we are making AAT great!

AAT is where its @ !!

Carl has been with AAT since June 2006.
