Kieron started coding at the age of 10, when his Dad brought home a copy of Turbo Pascal to play around with. He did programming at School (Kearsney College), but did not take it very seriously at the time (not realising that he would one day make a career out of it). Afterwards, he studied business related courses for two years and absolutely hated it. During this time, he met up with a masters student at UKZN who got him interested in programming again.
After a few months dabbling with VB .NET, Kieron enrolled at CTI and did their Information Systems Engineering course, with C# as his main language. After his course was complete, CTI employed him (maybe because he finished his course with an 87% average?), and he learned a bit of Java and then moved on to C++. He was then contacted by Loet out of the blue, after Richard found his website and liked what he found, and the rest is history. Three years down the line, and Kieron is responsible for a large proportion of AAT's backend development on the Vodacom Messaging Solutions offering.
When Kieron is not coding, you can find him playing games on his computer. He is a regular attendee at the various gaming LANs in the Durban area, and is one of the Admins for one of them. His favourite game of all time is Natural Selection, and he is also fond of networking (in particular wireless networks).
Kieron also has various interests outside of the computer world - he also has a passion for music, being an amateur trance DJ (one can always tell which office is Kieron's from the noise coming out of it) and a trained classical musician. He is also a bit of an adrenalin junkie; it's not uncommon for him to be either clinging to the sides of mountains over weekends, or even jumping off them.
Kieron has been with AAT since December 2006.
